PACA has a Google Group, which is similar to a listserv, and is available to current and past PACA members. We are happy to help you share job postings through our Google Group.
How do I post to the PACA Google Group?
There are two ways to submit a post to the PACA Google Group: If you do not have a Google account, or would like assistance with posting, please email your posting to firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can review your posting and share it to the Google Group on your behalf. If you do have a Google account and feel confident about using it: 1) Login to your Google account. 2) Go to: https://groups.google.com/g/PACAPhiladelphia 3) Click on the blue button: Join group to post. If you are already a member or are not logged into a Google account the button will not appear. 4) Follow the prompts from Google. Your post will not appear immediately. For the safety of our members, a PACA board member reviews all posts before we share them to the Group. We check for requests frequently, but not constantly. If your post has an urgent deadline, we recommend that you also send us an email at email@example.com.
Do I need to be a PACA member to attend PACA events?
Membership is strongly encouraged, but not always required. Depending on the event, we may charge a fee for members and/or a higher fee for non-members, but we will always list this prominently in our event announcements. If the event announcement does not mention a fee, then it is free for all members and non-members. We often require registration for Free events in order to have an estimate of attendees and to not exceed group size limits for tours and event spaces.
Do I need to live in Philadelphia to participate in PACA?
No! While our events are usually located in and around Philadelphia or are hosted virtually by our local board members, we welcome anyone from anywhere who is interested in joining us for virtual or in-person events. Past and current board members have included residents of New York, New Jersey, and Delaware.
Do I need to be a conservator to participate in PACA?
No, definitely not! PACA welcomes all individuals who are interested in learning more about conservation, including allied professionals. We do require that board members be PACA members and have some familiarity with PACA in order to best serve our membership community.
